Protect Your Health - It is Your Most Valuable Asset

Maintaining a healthy mind and body ought to be the No.1 goal of each individual. We need to take charge and be responsible for our state of health and also help our children to do so at an early age. If you don't, who else is going to do it for you?

First, let us look at what is making us sick. We are sick because of all the toxins and waste in our bodies. There are compounds known as free radicals in our systems. They are unstable molecules that can damage our bodies in much the same way that rust attacks metals. Free radicals are formed by everyday reactions in our bodies and from environmental influences like smog, cigarette smoke, and chemicals found even in the very health products that we use daily such as, hair sprays and house hold cleaning items. Scientists believe that free radicals contribute to diseases such as cancers and respiratory problems.

Our air is polluted, our soil gets contaminated with substances like arsenic, our water gets loaded with run-offs from farms, carrying with it all kinds of toxins from the chemicals used on these plantations and in the factories. When we eat the fish that should be great for us we get along with it mercury. Our vegetables and fruits get sprayed with pesticides or chemicals to help them grow faster and stay fresh longer. If not washed properly these fresh foods can help to ruin our health.

The system also lends a hand at killing us. Not only does it do little to keep us from getting sick, in many instances it actually causes more health problems than it fixes. We get loaded with drugs that come with a slew of side effects. In many cases drugs may fix one health issue but create others. By the time some of us get to half our life's journey our bodies are totally out of whack - the blood pressure is high, the sugar is uncontrollable, the sight is failing, our health is just not what it ought to be. We often seek medical attention and end up with a tray of drugs that prolong life but the quality of our health and existence is far from being desirable.

At this point we often throw up our hands and say, "What's a person got to do"
Well, for starters

If the waste and the poisons in our body is making us sick - then we MUST get it out! We have to find a way to get rid of this waste on a daily basis. If we can find a safe way to do this thorough cleansing with gentle natural organic substances free of all chemicals then we can get on the road to regaining some of the zest we once had. We can start to enjoy a healthier, happier life once more. Those who pay attention to their bodies need not worry too much about their state of health - they often live with confidence knowing that they are taking the necessary steps to preserve their health way into their golden years.

Cleansing is one of the major steps we must take in maintaining our health or improving it. Start your research and experiment with some natural gentle cleansers. What works for some-one may just not be right for you or the dosage may have to be different. Bear in mind that we are unique individual with varying metabolism. There are several organic body cleansers on the market and lots of published materials. Soon you should find some kind of cleansing method and substances that will work for you. Your colon, especially, will be grateful.

I have found that gentle cleansing of my colon, blood, and organs as instructed by an alternative doctor has done wonders for my overall health. It has helped in keeping my blood pressure normal and sugar in line although these contribute to most of the deaths in my family. Regular cleansing of your colon, your blood, and your organs with gentle natural organic substances is definite a plus to ones overall state of health.

Your mind and body will thank you for it and you will certainly feel great when your friends say:
"Wow, your skin looks soooo good -- what are you using?"

America's Health Crisis and the Five Factors of Health

Today America is in a Health Crisis. Five out six people will die from heart disease according to the Journal of the American Medical Association July 26, 2000; 284(4): 483-485. Sixty eight percent of the U.S. population is obese according to National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey for 1999-2002, CDC and nine percent of the U.S. population is clinically diagnosed with depression according to the National Institute of Mental Health, 2003. America is the most technological and wealthiest country in the world but yet we are one of the sickest countries. So what do we do? Instead of fighting sickness you build your health.

There are five major factors of health. The first one is nutrition. We need to eat more natural foods and stay away from man-made foods. Foods that are natural have all the vitamins and minerals needed for us to sustain life.
Second is exercise. We need some type of movement both aerobic and anaerobic. The benefits are improving heart function reduces body fat and raises energy levels. Movement is life.

The third factor of health is sleep. Roughly you need six to eight hours of sleep. Some people need more or less but you need a good adequate amount of sleep. When we sleep and rest this is the time we most are repairing and healing.

The fourth factor is having a positive state of mind. Our body responds to what we think about. We are a product of our thought. If you put yourself in a negative state of mind the outcomes are always negative. By putting yourself in a positive state of mind you will have positive outcomes.

The fifth major health factor and the most important are having a healthy nervous system. The nervous system controls all system within the body. The brain is the master control center, the spinal cord organizes information between the brain and the body, and the nerves relate directly to organs, tissues, and cells. Any interference to the nervous system due to a spinal bone will cause distortion to the body. A good chiropractor will unlock the spinal bone and restore proper brain to body communication.

How to Keep Your Health Insurance Price Low

Sunday, March 14, 2010

If you are not currently covered by a group major medical plan and you need to get individual coverage there are certain things you can do to keep your health insurance price low. The first thing is to do everything that you can to try and stay healthy. Eat healthy foods, so that you can maintain good health. Exercise and keep your weight at a good level. If you let your weight go up too high, you are prone to things like diabetes which can add a lot to your overall health costs.

Another way to keep your health insurance price low is to get a plan with a higher than normal deductible. Rather than having your coverage start after the first $100 of out-of-pocket coverage, you can increase the deductible to $500.00 or $1000.00. Some people go even higher with their deductibles just to lower the premiums they have to pay monthly.

This means that the insurance company would not start covering you until after you have paid out this amount, but it would keep your monthly premium down. One thing to keep in mind with this strategy is that if you do end up having medical expenses, you don't want to have such a high deductible that you are in trouble financially when an illness or injury occurs.

A third way to keep your health insurance price low is to go without parts of the coverage. If you want to get a comprehensive medical plan with dental insurance and vision coverage, you are going to pay an extremely high premium. If you pay your own dental and vision expenses, this will greatly reduce the amount of your monthly premium also. If you are not going to need maternity coverage, this is another thing you can drop from the plan.

Health Insurance For International Students - A Must

Thursday, March 11, 2010

If you are planning to come to the U.S. for a semester or more as a visiting student, there is a fairly recent development you should know about. At many schools throughout the country, it is now mandatory for students to have health insurance. International student insurance provides coverage that will meet school requirement and keep you healthy at an affordable rate.

International students typically do not have a great deal of disposable income with them while they are studying. So spending hundreds or even thousands on health care (which is what you'll pay if you're not insured) is impossible. Insurance for foreign students will protect you from having to pay those high costs.

The insurance policy that you have in your home country under your parents plan is likely not recognized in the U.S. That means you will need to buy some sort of insurance plan, and more often than not international students policies will be your best option.

Universities that require you to have a health care plan will offer you a university-run plan if you don't have one of your own. These plans are often very expensive and inflexible and may not be ideal for you. International insurance for student policies can be far more affordable and give you more choices in providers. Once you've bought your international student insurance plan, you'll get a waiver from your plan provider. With that waiver, you'll be able to opt out of your schools more expensive plan.

The price of health insurance for international students takes a few different factors into consideration. This includes your age, where you are studying, how long you'll be studying there for, and what the total requested amount of coverage is for the policy.

If you are wondering where you buy health insurance for international students, you'll find there are many options available to you. Smart shoppers will seek out quotes from a few different providers. This allows them to look at what kind of coverage each provider offers, see what each plan costs, and decide which plan best suits their specific wants, needs, and financial situation.

You don't have to worry about wasting money buying a plan that covers time you won't be in the country either. You can tailor your plan's length around the specific amount of time you are stating in the country studying.
As more schools introduce these rules, you'll need to be sure that you have an affordable solution in place.

Health insurance for international students gives you an inexpensive way to meet your schools requirements and assure yourself of reasonably priced high-quality care.
